The LECO Pegasus BTX leverages time-of-flight mass spectrometry for high-throughput GC-MS applications. Acquiring up to 500 spectra per second, it provides full mass range coverage with no sensitivity loss regardless of scan speed — a fundamental advantage over scanning quadrupole instruments for fast GC separations. ChromaTOF software provides automated peak finding with spectral deconvolution, extracting clean spectra from co-eluting peaks. Applications include metabolomics, flavor and fragrance profiling, and comprehensive two-dimensional GC (GCxGC) with thermal modulation. The system includes a 50,000+ compound EI spectral library and supports NIST library searching for confident identification.
